Using the general method of Example 42, 7-chloro-4-(2-hydroxy-2-methylpropylamino)-3nitroquinoline (18.5 g, 63 mmol, Example 82) was reduced and the resulting diamine reacted with ethoxyacetic acid to provide the desired product as a thick, green oil.
