Prepared in a similar manner to example 4 using 3,4-dimethylbenzoic acid and 5-methylhexan-3-amine (example 5a). 1H NMR (500 MHz, CDCl3): δ 0.94 (m, 9H); 1.38 (m, 2H); 1.46 (m, 1H); 1.65 (m, 2H); 2.29 (s, 3H); 2.30 (s, 3H); 4.18 (m, 1H); 5.70 (d, 1H); 7.17 (d, 1H); 7.46 (d, 1H); 7.55 (s, 1H). MS (248, M+H).
