Procedure

A solution of {2-[2-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-ethyl]-2-aza-spiro[5.5]undec-7-yl}-carbamic acid benzyl ester (0.60 g, 1.4 mmol) in methanol (30 mL) was treated with 10% palladium on carbon (1.0 g) and shaken under a hydrogen atmosphere (60 psig) for 20 hours at room temperature. The catalyst was removed by filtration and the solvent was removed under vacuum to give a white foam (0.35 g).
