Procedure

8.0 g (0.02817 mole) of the compound obtained in step 5 was dissolved in 20 ml of anhydrous acetic acid. The resulting solution was stirred for 1 hour at 120° C., and evaporated under reduced pressure to remove anhydrous acetic acid. Thereafter, the residue was dissolved in a mixture of 30 ml of methanol and 40 ml of 3N LiOH. The resulting solution was refluxed for 1 hour, evaporated under reduced pressure to remove methanol, neutralized with 1N HCl and extracted with ethyl acetate(50 ml×3). The organic layer was dried over Na2SO4. The residue was concentrated under reduced pressure and purified with column chromatography(hexane:ethyl acetate =1:2) to obtain 5.3 g of the title compound(yield 66%).
