Procedure
To a solution of {2-[2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-1H-indol-3-yl]-ethyl}-[3-(1-methanesulfonyl-1H-benzoimidazol-5-yl)-allyl]amine (24 mg in 1.5 mL methanol) at 0° C. was added 0.225 niL of a 2N solution of potassium hydroxide and the mixture allowed to warm to room temperature. After 1.5 hours, the reaction was quenched by the addition of 0.30 mL of 1N hydrochloric acid, concentrated in vacuo and purified by flash chromatography on silica gel (methylene chloride:methanol, 88:12) to give the title compound (12 mg). m/e =453 (M+H)
