Operation is carried out similarly to the above description with the difference that 2-(1-methylpiperidin-4-yl)-3H-imidazo [4,5-b] pyridine is reacted with tetrahydrofurfurylbromide to obtain 3-tetrahydrofurfuryl-2-(1-methylpiperidin-4-yl)-3H-imidazo [4,5-b] pyridine which is isolated as difumarate melting at 154°-156° C. (ethyl alcohol).
