Procedure
A mixture of 0,5 g (2,24 mmol) 5,6-diamino-7-chloro-2,3-dihydroxyquinoxaline in 10 ml water was at 50° C. added a solution of 0,4 g (4,6 mmol) 2,3-butanedione in 5 ml water. The reaction mixture was stirred at 50° C. for 24 h. After cooling to 25° C., the precipitate was filtered off and washed with water and ethanol to give 0,3 g (50%) 6-chloro-2,3-dihydroxy-8,9-dimethylpyrazino(2,3-f)quinoxaline, m.p.>300° C. NMR (DMSO-d6) 8.47 (1H,s), 2.60 (3H,s), 2.53 (3H,s).
