The title compound was prepared according to General Method 2. 5-(4-Chlorophenethyl)-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-2,8-dimethyl-1H-pyrido[4,3-b]indole was prepared from 2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-2,8-dimethyl-1H-pyrido[4,3-b]indole (See Example 1) (500 mg, 2.5 mmol), 4-chlorostyrene (3.18 mL, mmol) and NaH (300 mg, 7.5 mmol) in DMF (10 ml) at 180° C. for overnight (16 h) to obtain 15 mg of 5-(4-chlorophenethyl)-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-2,8-dimethyl-1H-pyrido[4,3-b]indole after purification.
