A mixture of 6-(2-Oxopiperazin-1-yl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydronaphthalene-2-carbonitrile (70 mg, 0.27 mmol) and 4-methyl-5-[(2R)-oxiran-2-yl]-2-benzofuran-1(3H)-one (73 mg, 0.38 mmol) in EtOH (2 mL) in a 5 mL microwave tube was heated to 148° C. for 1.5 hours. LC showed formation of the product, which was purified by mass-directed reverse phase HPLC (AcCN-Water with 0.1% TFA). LC-MS (IE, m/z): 481 [M+1]+.
