Reaction Steps
Prepared as in Example 1c from 4-phenoxyaniline and diethyl 2-(ethoxymethylene)malonate as a white solid (41%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 1.24 (t, J=8.0 Hz, 3H), 4.18 (q, J=8.0 Hz, 2H), 7.07 (d, J=8.0 Hz, 2H), 7.20 (t, J=8.0 Hz, 1H), 7.43 (t, J=8.0 Hz, 2H), 7.47 (m, 2H), 7.69 (d, J=12.0 Hz, 1H), 12.39 (bs, 1H). MS 310 (MH+).
