To a solution of 5-bromo-7-methyl-8-nitro-N-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)quinazolin-4-amine (400 mg, 0.94 mmol) in EtOH (10 mL) was added 10% Pd/C (420 mg) and the suspension was stirred under H2 (1 atm) for 5 h. Then the reaction mixture was filtered through celite and concentrated. The residue was purified by column chromatography to afford 200 mg of the title product. 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6): δ 9.73 (s, 1H), 8.59 (s, 1H), 8.38 (s, 1H), 8.26 (d, J=7.2 Hz, 1H), 7.65-7.58 (m, 2H), 7.42 (d, J=7.2 Hz, 1H), 7.30 (d, J=8.7 Hz, 1H), 5.63 (br s, 2H), 2.80 (s, 3H).
