According to the procedure described for compound B92 tert-butyl 4-{1-[(5-ethylthiophen-2-yl)methyl]-2,4-dioxo-6-phenyl-1,4-dihydrothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-3(2H)-yl}piperidine-1-carboxylate (1.18 g, compound B73) and a solution of hydrogen chloride in 1,4-dioxane (8.0 ml, 6.8 M) are reacted in 1,4-dioxane (35 ml) to afford the title compound as a solid.
