Ethyl 7-chloro-1-oxo-1,2-dihydroisoquinoline-3-carboxylate (580 mg, 2.30 mmol) was dissolved in NH3/MeOH(4.0M, 15 mL) and the reaction mixture was stirred at RT overnight. The solvent was removed in vacuo. The resulting residue was washed with petroleum ether and dried to give the title compound (200 mg, 38%). ESI-MS m/z [M+H]+223.1.
