Reaction Steps

To an ethanol solution (3.0 mL) of 2-benzyl-5-(4-fluorophenyl)octahydropyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole (52.0 mg, 0.175 mmol) synthesized in Reference Synthesis Example 225, palladium hydroxide-activated carbon catalyst (catalytic amount) was added and the resultant mixture was stirred under hydrogen atmosphere at room temperature for 2 days. After completion of the reaction, the reaction solution was filtered with Celite and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain a crude product of the title compound (25.0 mg).
