To a solution of (3-(benzyloxy)-4-chloro-2-methoxyquinolin-6-yl)(1-methyl-1H-imidazol-5-yl)(6-(trifluoromethyl)pyridin-3-yl)methanol (2.56 g, 4.61 mmol, Intermediate 11: step e) in MeOH (97 mL) was added 10% Pd/C (246 mg, 0.23 mmol). The reaction vessel was evacuated and then placed under an atmosphere of hydrogen for 1.5 hours. The mixture was then flushed with N2 and filtered through a pad of Celite®. The filtrate was concentrated to dryness, then DCM was added and the solution concentrated to dryness. The resulting solid was dried in the oven. The solid was then purified by FCC (15% MeOH/DCM) to provide the title compound.
