Procedure
A solution of racemic ethyl (1R,2S,3S)-2-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-methyl-cyclopropanecarboxylate (818 mg, 3.36 mmol) and KOH (1.92 g) in methanol was heated at 80° C. for 2 hours, cooled to RT, and the solvent evaporated. The mixture was shaken between dichloromethane and water, then the aqueous phase was acidified and extracted with dichloromethane, to give the pure racemic (1R,2S,3S)-2-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-methyl-cyclopropanecarboxylic acid.
