To a solution of 2-methyl-N-[1-methyl-1-(5-methyl-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl)-2-(oxetan-3-yl)ethyl]propane-2-sulfinamide (example 190c, 250 mg, 829 μmol) in methanol (8 ml) was added a 4M solution of hydrochloric acid in dioxane (415 μl, 1.66 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. The reaction mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate and extracted with a 2M aqueous solution of sodium carbonate. The organic phase was collected and the aqueous phase was back-extracted twice with ethylacetate. Combined organic phases were dried over sodium sulfate and evaporated down to dryness to yield the title compound (168 mg) as a crude oil which was used without any purification. MS (ESI, m/z): 198.3 (M+H+).
