To a stirred solution of 3-methyl-5-(trifluoromethyl)benzyl 4-((tert-butoxycarbonyl)amino)piperidine-1-carboxylate (237 mg, 0.569 mmol) in DCM (5 ml) at RT under nitrogen was added 4M HCl in Dioxane (1.423 ml, 5.69 mmol) and the reaction mixture stirred at RT for 3 hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure to afford the title product as the hydrochloride salt;
