A solution of 2-methoxy-6-morpholinopyridin-3-amine (Preparation 70, 40 mg, 0.191 mmol) in formic acid (3 mL) was heated to reflux for 3 hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo. The residue was partitioned between aqueous saturated NaHCO3 (40 mL) and EtOAc (40 mL). The aqueous layer was re-extracted with EtOAc (40 mL). The combined organic layers were washed with water (40 mL) and brine (40 mL), dried (MgSO4) and concentrated in vacuo, to give the title compound (40 mg, 88%).
