2-{[(1-Cyano-4-hydroxy-7-phenoxy-isoquinoline-3-carbonyl)-amino]-methyl}-butyric acid methyl ester (55 mg, 0.13 mmol) was dissolved in MeOH (3 mL) and 2 N NaOH (3 mL). After stirring for 16 hours at room temperature, the solvent was partially removed (until 3-4 mL left). H2O (15 mL) and 1 N hydrochloric acid were added until pH was 1. The resulting suspension was filtered. The solid was washed with H2O and dried to give the title compound in 35 mg. MS: (−) m/z 404.32 (M−1).
