A mixture of di-tert-butyl 2,2′-(3-(5-(benzyloxy)-2-bromophenyl)-4,5-dihydro-1,2-oxazole-5,5-diyl)diacetate (65.4 mg), tert-butyl 4-oxo-4-(4-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)-3,6-dihydropyridin-1(2H)-yl)butanoate (107 mg), [1,1′-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene]palladium(II) dichloride (8.54 mg), a 2 M aqueous cesium carbonate solution (0.3 mL), and DME (1.2 mL) was stirred at 90 C for 1 hour under microwave irradiation in an argon atmosphere. To the reaction mixture, water was added, followed by extraction with ethyl acetate. The extract was washed with brine and dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and then, the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate/hexane) to obtain the title compound (52.1 mg).
