Reaction Steps

A suspension of bicyclic olefin amidazole (0.1 mmol, the title compound of Example 1451) and 20 mg (0.019 mmol) of 10% palladium on charcoal in 2 mL of absolute ethanol is agitated on a Parr apparatus under 50 psi of hydrogen gas at room temperature until the reaction is complete. The mixture is filtered through a pad of celite, concentrated in vacuo and purified to give the title compound of Example 1453.
