Reaction Steps
36.34 g (100 mmol) of 1,7-bis(phthalimido)-1,4,7-triazaheptane [produced according to J. Org. Chem. USSR, 23:3302 (1987)] is dissolved in 500 ml of dimethylformamide. Then, 16.6 g (120 mmol) of potassium carbonate as well as 20.53 g (120 mmol) of benzyl bromide are added to it and stirred overnight at 25° C. It is poured in ice water, the precipitated product is suctioned off, rewashed with water, taken up in 1,2-dichloroethane, dried on sodium sulfate and evaporated to dryness in a vacuum. The title compound is obtained as solid.
