Procedure
A mixture of 2-[4-(hydroxymethyl)-phenyl]-5,6-dihydro-1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-c]-quinazolin-3-one (Compound 19) (500 mg, 1.6 mmol) and excess SOCl2 was heated at 50° C. for 1 hour. SOCl2 was evaporated under reduced pressure and the residue was washed with ether to afford 2-[4-(chloromethyl)-phenyl]-5,6-dihydro-1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-c]-quinazolin-3-one (Compound 20).
Workup
- customSOCl2 was evaporated under reduced pressure
- washthe residue was washed with ether
