Procedure

Using a procedure similar to that described in example except starting with 1-(9,10-dihydro-9,10-methanoanthracen-9-ylmethyl)-4-piperidinone (described in example 5d) and employing 4-bromoanisole, the hydrochloride salt of the title compound was formed in 72% yield as a white solid, mp 228°-231° C. elemental Analysis for C28H29 NO2.HCl: Calculated: C, 75.07; H, 6.75; N, 3.13 Found: C, 74.93; H, 6.74; N, 3.14
