A suspension of 4-(benzyloxy)-1-(2-ethyl-3-methyl-2H-indazol-5-yl)pyridin-2(1H)-one (1.5 g) and 10% palladium carbon (444 mg) in methanol (30 ml) was stirred under a hydrogen atmosphere at room temperature for 3 hr. The insoluble material was filtered off, and the obtained filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to give the title compound (1.07 g).
