Reaction Steps

A mixture of 6-Bromo-3-methyl-4-phenyl-3,4-dihydro-1H-quinazolin-2-one (0.2 g, 0.6 mmol) in DMF (10 mL) is cooled to 0° C., then NaH (16.7 mg, 0.7 mmol) is added. After the addition the mixture is stirred at 0° C. for 0.5 h. Then CH3I (107 mg, 0.76 mmol) is added and the mixture is stirred at r.t. for 2 h. Then H2O is added and is extracted with EtOAc, dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated to give product. This is used in the next step without further purification.
