To a solution of (2-Amino-phenyl)-(4-chloro-phenyl)-methanone (9.41 g, 0.04 mmol) dissolved in 150 mL DCM was added NBS (7.25 g, 0.04mol) at 0° C. The mixture is stirred at RT for overnight. The mixture is extracted with DCM, washed with NaHCO3, dried over NaSO4 and concentrated. This provides the desired compound. This is used without further purification.
