4-{5-[2-Chloro-7-methyl-8-(3-trifluoromethyl-phenyl)-[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyridin-6-yl]-pyrazol-1-yl}-benzonitrile (Int. 19, 50 mg, 0.104 mmol) in ethanolamine (1.5 mL) was heated under microwave irradiation at 150° C. for 30 mins. The reaction mixture was partitioned between water and DCM and the organic phase was dried (Na2SO4), filtered and concentrated in vacuo. The resultant residue was triturated in MeCN and then purified by preparative C18 HPLC, eluting with a gradient of 20-90% MeCN in water (+0.1% formic acid) to give the title compound as a white solid (8 mg).
