To a stirred solution of 5.08 g (12.64 mmol) 6-bromo-3-iodo-8-methanesulfonyl-imidazo[1,2-a]pyrazine which was prepared according to intermediate example 1c in 100 mL 1-methylpyrrolidin-2-one were added 3.77 mL isobutylamine. After stirring at 23° C. for 2 hours, 500 mL water were added and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic phase was filtered, evaporated and the residue was recrystallized from methanol/water to yield 3.87 g (78%) of the title compound.
