A solution of 4-chloro-3-methyl-1H-pyrazolo[4,3-d]pyridine (330 mg, 1.9 mmol) and 1-(2,4-dimethoxyphenyl)methanamine (0.58 mL, 3.9 mmol) in 1-butanol was heated in the microwave at 150° C. for 40 minutes. Purification via preparative LCMS (XBridge C18 column, eluting with a gradient of acetonitrile/water containing 0.1% ammonium hydroxide, at flow rate of 60 mL/min) gave the desired product (240 mg, 42%). LCMS for C16H19N4O2 (M+H)+: m/z=299.1; Found: 299.2.
