A solution of tert-butyl 4-({4-hydroxy-5-[(3-phenylphenyl)methylcarbamoyl]pyrimidin-2-yl}amino)-4-oxobutanoate (110 mg) in trifluoroacetic acid (1.5 mL) was left standing at room temperature for 1 hour. Ether (30 mL) was added to the reaction solution, and the resulting suspension was filtered. The product collected by filtration was washed with ether and hexane and dried under reduced pressure to obtain the title compound (88 mg).
