Procedure

By a similar method as in Example 1, 7-{2-[2-(4-benzo[b]thiophen-4-yl-piperazin-1-yl)ethoxy]ethoxy}-3,4-dihydro-1H-quinolin-2-one was prepared from 7-[2-(2-chloroethoxy)ethoxy]-3,4-dihydro-1H-quinolin-2-one, and after it was made into an ethanol solution, 1N hydrochloric acid ethanol solution was added thereto, precipitated crystals were separated by filtration, recrystallized from isopropyl alcohol-diisopropyl ether and thereby 7-{2-[2-(4-benzo[b]thiophen-4-yl-piperazin-1-yl)ethoxy]ethoxy}-3,4-dihydro-1H-quinolin-2-one dihydrochloride was obtained in the form of a white powder.
