To a solution of 10C (1.0 g, 4.1 mmol) in toluene cooled by an ice bath, benzylmagnesium chloride (2M in THF) (3.0 mL, 6.0 mmol) was added dropwise. After one hour, ammonia chloride solution was added to the mixture and extracted with ethyl acetate (50 mL twice). The organic layer was dried with Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated and used without further purification. MS (m/z) 292 [M+H]+.
