Compound 20 (113 mg, 0.287 mmol) was dissolved in acetonitrile (3 mL) and NIS (129 mg, 0.574 mmol) was added. The solution was heated to reflux for 1 h. The solvent was evaporated and the residue dissolved in EtOAc, washed with sat. NaHCO3, NaS2O3, water, and brine. The organics were dried (MgSO4), filtered and concentrated. The residue was purified by column chromatography on silica gel, eluting with EtOAc/hexane to give the title compound as a colorless foam. 1H NMR (CDCl3) δ 5.07 (d, J=6.8 Hz, 1H), 3.99 (br s, 1H), 3.88 (s, 3H), 3.86-3.73 (m, 8H), 3.43 (br s, 3H), 1.90-1.86 (m, 1H), 1.70-1.63 (m, 2H), 1.56-1.55 (m, 1H), 1.42 (s, 9H); LCMS 2.95 min, 520 (M+H).
