Procedure
A mixture of 1-(bromomethyl)-3,5-dichloro-2-iodobenzene (1.29 mmol) [WO2011/027156] and sodium acetate (9.91 mmol) in 4 mL AcOH was heated to 100° C. for 1 h and then to 80° C. for 20 h. The mixture was diluted with DCM and extracted with water and brine. The organic layer was dried over MgSO4 and concentrated in vacuo. Purification by CC (KP-SIL™ from Biotage) using Hept to Hept/EtOAc (9/1) gives the desired compound as white solid.
