A mixture of 4-azido-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrano[2,3-b]pyridine (3.0 mmol) and Pd/C (10 mol %) in 12 mL EtOH was stirred under a H2 atmosphere. After 3 h, the mixture was filtered over a pad of Celite, washed with EtOH and concentrated in vacuo to obtain the title compound as colorless oil;
