A 10-mL microwave vial was charged with 4-chloro-2-(3-chlorophenyl)-6-cyclopropylpyrimidine (0.100 g, 0.38 mmol) and 4-aminophenethyl alcohol (0.103 g, 0.75 mmol) in NMP (3 mL). The resulting mixture was heated at 120° C. under microwave irradiation for 1 h. The reaction mixture was cooled, diluted with water (20 mL) affording a solid. The solid was isolated by filtration and purified by chromatography on silica using hexanes/ethyl acetate (10:0 to 1:1) as eluent to afford the title compound (0.101 g, 73%) as a white solid. MW=365.86. M.p. 124-126° C. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6, 500 MHz) δ 9.46 (s, 1H), 8.27-8.21 (m, 2H), 7.62-7.51 (m, 4H), 7.21 (d, J=8.5 Hz, 2H), 6.62 (s, 1H), 4.61 (br s, 1H), 3.60 (t, J=7.0 Hz, 2H), 2.70 (t, J=7.0 Hz, 2H), 2.06-1.99 (m, 1H), 1.11-1.06 (m, 2H), 1.02-0.95 (m, 2H); ESI MS m/z 366 [M+H]+.
