Following general procedure C, ethyl 2-(4-((2-(cyclopentylthio)-6,7-dihydro-5H-cyclopenta[b]pyridin-4-yl)amino)phenyl)acetate (0.51 mmol) was reacted with ammonia in methanol (7.0 M, 5 mL) to afford the title compound (0.130 g, 69% over two steps) as an off-white solid. MW=367.51. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6, 300 MHz) δ 8.00 (s, 1H), 7.44 (s, 1H), 7.23 (d, J=8.5 Hz, 2H), 7.10 (d, J=8.5 Hz, 2H), 6.87 (s, 1H), 6.52 (s, 1H), 3.82 (quin, J=7.0 Hz, 1H), 3.33 (s, 2H), 2.84-2.67 (m, 4H), 2.12-1.95 (m, 4H), 1.73-1.39 (m, 6H); APCI MS m/z 368 [M+H]+.
