Following general procedure C, ethyl 2-(4-((2-(3-chlorophenyl)-6,7-dihydro-5H-cyclopenta[b]pyridin-4-yl)(hydroxy)methyl)phenyl)acetate (0.018 g, 0.043 mmol) was reacted with ammonia in methanol (7.0 M, 4 mL), followed by formation of the hydrochloride salt to afford the title compound (0.010 g, 55%) as a white solid. MW=429.34. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6, 500 MHz) δ 8.11-8.09 (m, 1H), 8.06 (s, 1H), 8.01-7.97 (m, 1H), 7.60-7.54 (m, 2H), 7.43 (s, 1H), 7.34 (d, J=8.0 Hz, 2H), 7.21 (d, J=8.0 Hz, 2H), 6.82 (s, 1H), 5.80 (s, 1H), 3.33 (s, 2H), 3.06-2.93 (m, 3H), 2.71-2.61 (m, 2H), 2.11-2.01 (m, 2H); APCI MS m/z 393 [M+H]+.
