Reaction Steps
To a suspension of 500 mg pulverized molecular sieves (4 Å), the compound of step 2 (761 mg, 3.88 mmol), 2-chloro-1H-indole-3-carbaldehyde (465 mg, 2.59 mmol) and copper(II) acetate (940 mg, 5.18 mmol) in DCM (20 ml) was added pyridine (0.42 ml, 5.18 mmol) and triethylamine (0.72 ml, 5.18 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for one week. The mixture was diluted with water and extracted with DCM. The organic layer was separated, dried over sodium sulfate, filtered and evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by preparative HPLC. The eluate was lyophilized overnight to give 56 mg of the title compound.
