A mixture of 1-(4-fluoro-benzylamino)-6-trifluoromethyl-1H-indole-2-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (240 mg, 0.63 mmol) and chlorocarbonyl-acetic acid ethyl ester (105 mg, 0.69 mmol) in dioxane (3 mL) was heated in an 100° C. oil bath for 30 min and concentrated. Crude product was purified by silica gel chromatography (5%-50% EtOAc/DCM) to provide the title compound 162 mg. ESI (m/z): 495.24 (M+H)+.
