Compound 11 (55 mg, 0.208 mmol) was refluxed with 10% HCl for 2 h. After cooling the resulting solution was made alkaline with 30% NaOH. It was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was concentrated to yield the desired compound, 2-(4-fluoro-1,6-dihydro-2H-3-oxa-6-aza-as-indacen-8-yl)-ethylamine (XII, R1═R2═R3═H, X═F, 23 mg, yield 50%).
