Using the procedure for step A in Example 4, the title compound was prepared from 1-bromo-2-fluoro-6-trifluoromethylbenzene (0.850 mL, 6.09 mmol) and 4-amino-3-nitrophenylboronic acid pinacol ester (1.3 eq., 2.09 g, 7.92 mmol) in 89% yield (1.62 g). 1H-NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ: 8.10 (s, 1H), 7.53-7.61 (m, 1H), 7.43-7.53 (m, 1H), 7.35 (t, J=8.5 Hz, 1H), 7.30 (d, J=7.3 Hz, 1H), 6.89 (d, J=8.3 Hz, 1H), 5.47 (br. s., 2H).
