Reaction Steps
Methyl 3-cyclohexyl-2-(2-vinylphenyl)-1H-indole-6-carboxylate was dissolved in DMF (0.277 M) and sodium hydride (1.2 eq.) was added. After the evolution of gas had ceased, a solution of propargylbromide in toluene (80% solution, 1.6 eq.) was added. After 3 h all volatiles were evaporated in vacuo. The residual material was purified by flash chromatography (PE:EtOAc, 20:1). After evaporation of the solvents, the product was obtained as a colourless foam (84%). MS (ES+): 398.4 (M+H+).
