A mixture of compound 44A (7 g, 26.8 mmol) and formamide (64.1 mL, 1607 mmol) was heated at 180° C. overnight and cooled. The precipitate was collected, washed with water and dried to provide the desired product: 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-D6) δ ppm 12.35 (1H, s), 8.28 (1H, s), 8.15 (1H, s), 7.85-7.93 (2H, m), 7.09-7.14 (2H, m), 3.82 (3H, s).
