Procedure
10% Pd—C (7.0 mg) was added to a methanol (2.6 mL) solution of (2S)-N-(benzyloxy)-2-[(biphenyl-4-ylcarbonyl)(methyl)amino]-N′,2-dimethylpropanediamide (21 mg) as obtained in Example 13-(1), and the mixture was stirred in a hydrogen atmosphere for 6 hours at room temperature. The reaction mixture was filtered through Celite, and the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure. The resulting residue was purified by preparative silica gel thin-layer chromatography (chloroform/methanol=6/1) to obtain (2S)-2-[(biphenyl-4-ylcarbonyl)(methyl)amino]-N-hydroxy-N′,2-dimethylpropanediamide (Compound 341, white solid) (4.2 mg, 27%).
