A suspension of 2-(2-oxo-1,6-naphthyridin-1(2H)-yl)acetic acid (150 mg, 0.734 mmol) and Pd/C (20 mg) in methanol was shaken under a 40 psi atmosphere of H2 for 18 h. The suspension was filtered through Celite and the filtrate was concentrated under vacuum to give 2-(2-oxo-3,4-dihydro-1,6-naphthyridin-1(2H)-yl)acetic acid. Retention time (min)=0.343, method [3], MS(ESI) 207.1 (M+H).
