Reaction Steps
To a solution of methyl 3-[2H,5H,6H,7H,8H-[1,3]dioxolo[4,5-g]quinolin-5-yl]-2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinoxaline-6-carboxylate (140 mg, 0.37 mmol) in dichloromethane (80 ml) was added pyridine (175 mg, 2.21 mmol) and Tf2O (510 mg, 1.81 mmol). The reaction was stirred overnight under atmosphere of nitrogen at room temperature. Then the reaction mixture was quenched with water (200 ml), extracted with dichloromethane (3×20 ml), the organic layers were combined, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and concentrated in vacuo to afford methyl 3-(7,8-dihydro-[1,3]dioxolo[4,5-g]quinolin-5(6H)-yl)-2-(trifluoromethylsulfonyloxy)quinoxaline-6-carboxylate as a red oil (150 mg, crude), which was used directly in the next step.
