Procedure

A flask containing 2-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-methyl-6-nitro-2H-1,4-benzoxazin-3(4H)-one (983.30 mg; 3.90 mmol; 1.00 eq.) dissolved in methanol (10.00 ml) is passed through the H-Cube using 10% Pd/C cartridge, at 1 mL per minute, in full H2 mode at 30 C. The product is afforded quantitatively upon concentration of the eluent and used directly in further reactions; LCMS: rt 0.24 min; m/z 223.06.
